What is neem
Neem oil, a type of vegetable oil, comes from the seeds and fruits of Neem (also known as Neem tree or Azadirachta Indica). Neem belongs to the mahogany (Meliaceae) family. He comes from a country formerly known as Burma, renamed Myanmar and bordering India, China, and Thailand. The neem tree is also naturally occurring in other parts of the Asian subcontinent such as Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Due to its many benefits and its application in the control of pests, medicines, and cosmetics, Neem has been launched in many other parts of the world. The extracted neem oil is predominantly yellow-gold or yellow-brown. It smells strongly of sulfur, almost like a combination of garlic and peanut. It has a bitter taste thanks to its compounds, which are the combination of triterpenoids and triglycerides. Neem oil is often formulated with surfactants to facilitate its use (due to its hydrophobic properties).

Neem oil helps treat these conditions by purifying the scalp and stimulating blood flow to the skin. It also nourishes the scalp and hair roots. Due to its anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties, neem oil can help to improve the condition of your scalp. Neem oil also contains a high concentration of fatty acids, which also contribute to the care of the scalp.

How To Use Neem Oil Topically
The best way to prepare the topical application of neem oil is to dilute the pure neem oil with the carrier oil of your choice, such as olive oil. Jojoba or coconut oil before topical application.
For every ounce of your carrier oil, you need to add about 12 drops of pure neem oil. Before you begin, it is really important to patch a hidden part of the skin to detect signs of sensitivity, irritation, or allergic reactions before you apply them completely.
Here we explain how it works :
- Apply a small amount of diluted neem oil to the inside of your forearm.
- Cover with a bandage and let rest for 24 hours.
- If everything is OK after 24 hours, you can consider a full application.
- However, if you notice hives, redness and other signs of irritation, rinse the area thoroughly and stop using it.
You can let the diluted neem oil soak for about an hour before washing your hair with your favorite shampoo and rinsing thoroughly.
If you are not interested in a standard oil treatment, mix a few drops of neem oil with your favorite shampoo and massage the solution completely into the scalp.
You can apply the diluted oil regularly. Some women use it daily. However, the oil can cause irritation. We, therefore, recommend using it only in moderation and slowly increasing its consumption over time.
Pre-made solutions or over-the-counter products can have different instructions. Instructions can be found on the labels. We always recommend following the instructions on the product labels.
